    defective demon carb

i noticed on saturday that after i took my car for a quick ride last friday night my rear fuel bowl on my king demon carb was empty. i removed the base plate and fuel was leaking from the metering block or main body and into the engine. i called B.G and they said that they never saw a pourus body or block and to replace the power valve plug gasket. so after a new block and power valve plug gaskets it was still seeping. i looked real close to find that the lower fuel bowl bolts holes in the body are too close to the gasket surface, you can see the lines where the tap almost broke completely through. looks like they milled too much off of the gasket surface. so that is where the fuel is coming through and obviously causing my rich condition. i bought the thing back in 04 but didn't take it out of the box 'till last october when i fired it off. lets see now what B.G. will have to say and if they will stand by there product.

no, it is like they milled too much off of the bottom of the body. you can see where the tap was run through and started to break through, body is junk. i will get a pic. soon.

well they have my carb and saw the issue and are repairing it at no cost. once i get it back i will take it apart to clean, inspect and report back here. at least they saw what was wrong and didn't argue.

well, there is more. i was able to fix the first issue w/o much issue. i went to remove the front bowl again to replace the p.v. and one of the heli-coils pulled out with the bolts. i thought no big deal, i will just get another one except there aren't any threads to put one into. looks like an 8 year old hyped up on pixie sticks and blind folded did the machine work on this. i called them back and i got the same guy and he seemed pretty upset with the issue, as in who ever worked on it. he said to send it back directly to him, we will see what happens. time to buy a back up carb (a holley this time)

the guy that i am dealing with is trying. i did buy it 6 years ago but it was obvious that it was sitting in the box 'till last november and the body didn't become defective in the box.
